The Building
From the moment Diane von Furstenberg set her sights on the Meatpacking District in the mid-2000s, she envisioned more than a store — a living house of DVF, where fashion, art, creativity, and community would converge. In 2007, that vision came to life. Rising from a collection of historic redbrick warehouses, the building was transformed by WORKac architects into a luminous, multifunctional headquarters. Anchored by the dramatic glass stairdelier, daylight floods the interiors, linking showroom, studios, offices, and gallery space. At its summit, a crystalline penthouse crowns the structure.
The flagship was built with geothermal heating and cooling, heliostat mirrors to channel light, energy-efficient LED illumination, a green rooftop planted with native NY flora, and a commitment to recycled or salvaged materials. Together, these systems honor the neighborhood’s industrial past while pointing toward a more responsible future.
Inside, art and fashion intertwine, creating a unique world of prints and color. The Flagship holds the DVF boutique and global offices, blending private spaces of creation with public areas for events, shopping, and discovery. Today, it remains a cornerstone of the Meatpacking District and a living embodiment of Diane’s vision.
