Love Diane: May
Celebrating freedom, empowering women, inspiring confidence...

I have always said that my children are my greatest creation and May is a month to celebrate creation in all of its forms. This month’s Woman #INCHARGE, Alexa von Tobel, is not only a mother, but also an entrepreneur who created her own company, LearnVest, at the age of twenty-two. I always knew I wanted to be the kind of woman who could pay my own bills and Alexa makes it easy for everyone to do that. We caught up with her about taking risks, what inspires her and three things you can do right now to take control of your financial life.

Meanwhile, May 7th saw the 70th anniversary of The Met Gala and I dove into my archive to share a few of my favorite looks. May also brings three beautiful documentaries, including a look at the fabulous life of my dear friend André Leon Talley. And, finally, for a more meaningful take on Mother’s Day, we invite you to Make Your Mark and support at risk mothers by donating to the International Rescue Committee.

In Her Words

"It's messy. It's hard. It's all of those things. But my best advice for working moms is love your job. If you're a working mom and you love your job, you will make it all work."

- Alexa von Tobel, Founder and CEO of LearnVest
