Street Style:
NYFW with Hanuk

The front row isn’t the only place with a great view of fashion week! That’s why we asked our Street Style correspondent, Hanuk, to lend us his eye again this season and snap the scene outside our Fall 2014 show and beyond. Because what’s not to love about “It” girls and editors on-the go? From Lincoln Center to Spring Studios, the word on the street was staying warm. And whether in pops of color or prints to covet, this season’s street style is a testament to the power of a statement coat.

Meet Hanuk! Our NYFW Correspondent

Fashion Week is here again and New York street style is rising to the occasion. With shows uptown and downtown, and fabulous parties everywhere in between, a girl can’t soak up all the style without a little help. So we’ve enlisted fashion scene staple, talented photographer and generally fabulous New Yorker, Hanuk to seek out the best of the best.

Before we sent his eagle eye out on the town to capture everything “chic, chic, chic,” we got a few tips from the NYFW veteran on the week that’s all about see-and-be-seen.  Be sure to check back throughout NYFW for our favorite street style moments.

What excites you most about New York Fashion Week?

I love New York Fashion Week because it’s so wonderful to see all of my friends who work in fashion, all at the same time! I like to think of it as a big, week-long family reunion of people who I sometimes haven’t seen since last fashion week.

What will you be looking for in the street style you shoot?

Originality, effortless elegance, and genius! Beauty, especially when it comes to street style, is all about personality, and it’s this personal style that makes people chic, chic, chic.

How would you describe your own street style?

I like to dress casual and easy—khakis, a button down shirt and a pair of brogues, or sometimes even just sneakers. If my outfit were too fussy, I wouldn’t be able to chase after the pretty ladies in the crowd!

Any forecast on trends for the season?

My forecast is more like a wish list: a return to the simple yet sexy and elegant looks of the 1990’s.

And finally, the question all NYFW attendees must know, one air kiss or two?

Two. Always two.
