What was your inspiration behind the collection?
The collection is called Glam Rock. It’s a bold collection, sophisticated yet a little bit rock and roll. The campaign is shot like a paparazzi shoot…capturing the muse, strong, glamorous and feeling like a rock star.
For the campaign, you chose model Daria Werbowy. Tell us more about that:
I am so excited to have Daria representing DVF this season. Daria truly embodies what the brand is about. Her style is effortless, sexy and on-the-go! She is more than a model, she is a real woman. She has a life, she is beautiful and has wonderful body language. She is totally a DVF woman…engaged, empowered, free and confident. She IS the woman she wants to be!
What are a few of your favorite looks?
How would you describe the colors and prints of the season?
The palette is a mix of warm sienna and neutrals with a pop of this amazing tanzanite blue. For the prints, leopard is obviously very important, and we put an unexpected twist on our signature chain link with a warped chain print that I wore to the show.
Fall marks the launch of the new Sutra bag. What can you tell us about that and other accessories for Fall?
The Sutra lock is beautiful and jewelry-like, which makes it feel very special. It combines elements of our signature chain link and the Sutra bracelet that I designed, and then we worked with jewelry designer Philip Crangi to make it a very exciting, iconic piece that really stands out on the hobo and the mini bags. I love how it turned out. It is so DVF. We also have a lot of edgy, sexy accessories like our flirty bags with the lips and shoes with mesh and lace up detail, things like that.
And if you had to pick just one must-have for Fall?
Anything with a leopard print.
