Journey of a Dress: Tuula Vintage

May 27, 2014

She travels the world documenting her life–and her wardrobe–in a photo diary filled with landscapes, architecture, colors and sunsets. Jessica Stein of Tuula Vintage is a DVF girl! She’s also the next blogger to take the wrap dress for a twirl, this time through the UK and her native Australia.

Tell us your Journey of a Dress story.

I first learnt of Diane von Furstenberg from my mother who has always favoured her collection of DVF dresses. She would wear them for both work and pleasure, and I witnessed her radiating confidence while wearing them while I was growing up.
The confidence and independence that my mum developed with help from her DVF wrap dresses was passed down to me in more than one way. I am blessed to be travelling and experiencing the world, but cherish coming home to Australia, my family and friends above all. My journey of a dress story is photos and a video diary of this current chapter of my life.

How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style is simple and chic. I like to keep the focus on the shape, texture or mood of the piece and to then compliment with accessories, not distract.

What does the wrap dress mean to you?

To me the wrap dress represents femininity, independence and timelessness.

What is your must-have item this season?

My must have item is the DVF Abigail Long Maxi Wrap Dress in Chain Link. Such an amazing print and length that can be dressed up in heels, or dressed down in boots for transeasonal wear.

Diane loves mantras. Do you have any words that you live by?

“Happiness is only real when shared.”
