Bright Young Things

What do you get when you cross a Coppola, DVF and Current/Elliott? Well, one very chic case of Writer’s Block, which also happens to be the title of the Gia Coppola-directed short film created in celebration of The DVF Hearts Current/Elliott collection.  The short— which stars Coppola’s friend and fellow NYU grad, Tracy Antonopoulos, as a young writer struggling to find her muse in the Hollywood of old— was first screened on Thursday night at Los Angeles’ Mandrake bar for a crowd as quirky and dazzling as the film itself.   Atlanta de Cadenet, Nina Clemente, Serge Azria, and Natalia Bonifacci all came out to cheers Coppola and to navigate their way through a DVF and Current/Elliott induced haze of beaded blouses, vintage prints and faded denim, all to a score by Coppola’s cousin Robert Schwartzman.

As the credits rolled, one thing was clear: creative frustration never looked so fabulous.
