It’s been less than 24 hours since our Spring Collection, OASIS, debuted; since Naomi Campbell closed the show in fierce fashion, and Diane shimmied down the runway, so it’s no surprise that Daft Punk is still playing on a loop in our minds…We’re up all night to get lucky!
And get lucky we did as, amidst the chaos that is New York Fashion Week, friends like Jessica Alba, Allison Williams, Sheryl Crow, Andy Cohen and Coco Rocha, joined us for an Oasis of “quiet calm and joie de vivre,” that belied the commotion at Lincoln Center.
An ode to inner beauty, the collection encouraged women to “Be their own oasis…” in graphic black and white prints with pops of red, flowing chiffon, and jet-set ready tunics. Part desert oasis, part safari, and part jungle adventure, think chic, effortless silhouettes that are up for any of the above. As Diane described it, “You can fit all 38 pieces in your petite valise and hop on a plane to Paris or anywhere.”
But it was the one who happened to be in town who created quite the stir. Naomi Campbell, that is, rocked the final look, following an all-star cast that included the likes of Karlie Kloss, Karen Elson, Joan Smalls and Jourdan Dunn.
And then came Diane, looking radiant in a landscape printed poster dress, as she took her turn down the runway to Mary J. Blige’s “Dance for Me.” The crowd obliged, of course, with waving hands and flashing cameras. Joie de vivre, it would seem, is contagious.
