Little Black Dress

July 03, 2013

“The little black dress is the true friend. You remember when you met her…what happened the first time you wore her…she travels with you…is patient and constant…you go to her when you don’t know where else to go and she is ALWAYS reliable and timeless.”
- Diane Von Furstenberg

André Leon Talley, former contributing editor of Vogue and one of the most authoritative voices in the fashion industry, is making the LBD the talk of Paris Fashion Week 2013! The “Little Black Dress” exhibit opened in Paris this week at the Mona Bismarck American Center for art and culture, featuring 80 stunning variations of the timeless, chic and iconic little black dress. You can go see one of our very own little black dresses!

The exhibit is also accompanied by a book, with stunning black and white photographs of every LBD imaginable from the likes of Cristóbal Balenciaga, Azzedine Alaïa, Yves Saint Laurent, Karl Lagerfeld, Oscar de la Renta and so many more talented designers. And don’t miss the essays on the little black dress by Cioia Diliberto, Maureen Dowd and Robin Givhan. Now slip on your own little black dress as you flip through an archive of iconic LBDs. You’ll be glad you did!
