“Oh gee, that’s great,” Diane recalls Andy Warhol saying about “everything and everyone,” and we couldn’t stop ourselves from saying the same when we heard about the Met’s new Warhol exhibition. Regarding Warhol: Sixty Artists, Fifty Years officially opens tomorrow, and we can’t break out our color-blocked shifts and pop art prints fast enough. We love anything Warhol, and this show promises a whole lot of it. Diane and Andy bonded in the early 70’s over a love for antique jewelry and shining nightlife, and Diane was the subject of many a Warhol polaroid-turned-painting. In addition to showcasing some of the artist’s most iconic and influential pieces, the exhibit includes works by contemporary artists that celebrate the Factory mastermind’s influence. He’s certainly made his mark on us.
